Yasinovataya Resident Died Protecting His Child from a Ukrainian Shell

In Donbass there are new victims of shelling from the Ukrainian armed forces. Night volleys destroyed several houses and killed two civilians. Among the dead there are a pensioner and a man, the head of a family, who protected his wife and daughter with his own body. Once again, the Ukrainian side fired with shells, banned by the Minsk agreements. Our military correspondent Alexander Sladkov reports from DPR. He visited the places of both tragedies. In the town of Yasinovataya there was a family tragedy last night, which the whole Donbass is now talking about. It all began with an evening bombardment. Ukrainian troops hit the residential buildings. I guess they shot from a tank. From a tank, right. Because we have a lot of them shooting here, too. After the second one, it started like rain. I hid in the basement. When we went out, we thought it was over. This is the result. The VGTRK crew was on the outskirts of Yasinovataya when the shelling had barely finished. There were about five of them. Are there any dead? Yes, in that house. In one of the houses, we saw the body of a man. A dead man. The frontline is literally tens of meters away from here. The head of the family was killed saving his daughter from splinters. My daughter was thirsty, she went out to drink. The last thing I remember is that he shouted, "Nastya, a shell!" He pushed her away, covered her and, as it turned out, died. Did you expect him to save the child? Yes, he was ready to do everything for us. Residents of Yasinovataya are slowly recovering after the shelling from the Ukrainian tanks. Two people died in the town, several houses were destroyed. This is horrible. What's going on? I worked all my life, built the house, did everything, and in my old age I am left without a home, without anything. They are fascists, of course. You can’t see much here. But look what it turns out to be. Everyone says that it’s because of the road, which they can’t occupy it in. Now is the last night before the truce.
